Years later, Eugene returns to Joseon on a diplomatic mission. Although the country is the place he once fled, he finds himself drawn back by fate, history, and unexpected love. There he meets Go Ae-shin, a noblewoman living a double life. While appearing to be a graceful aristocrat, she secretly fights as a sniper for the Righteous Army, risking everything to protect her homeland.
As foreign powers compete for influence over Korea, Eugene becomes entangled in political conspiracies, dangerous missions, and complicated relationships. Alongside him are Gu Dong-mae, a feared swordsman haunted by his past; Kudo Hina, the intelligent owner of Glory Hotel; and Kim Hui-sung, a nobleman whose carefree personality hides remarkable courage.
Together, their lives become connected through love, loyalty, sacrifice, and the fight for Korea’s future.
