Love Formula (2025): A Refreshing Campus Romance You Can’t Miss

Posted on July 18, 2025July 18, 2025 by RB

When a Village Girl Solves the Equation of Love

What happens when a quiet village girl collides—literally—with the coldest guy on campus? Love Formula is one of those dramas that sneaks up on you with its charm. At first glance, it feels like another campus love story. But as you dive deeper, it gently surprises you—with emotional depth, warm chemistry, and characters you can’t help but root for.

This drama doesn’t scream for attention. Instead, it slowly wraps around your heart like a soft hoodie on a rainy day. If you’re in the mood for something light but meaningful, sweet but not sugary, Love Formula might just be the perfect equation.

Plot Summary

Jian Dan is just a regular village girl with big dreams and a scholarship in hand. On her first day at university, a silly accident at the swimming pool leads her straight into the life of Han Yansheng—a cool, distant math genius and the reluctant president of the swimming club.

He’s hiding a painful past. She’s trying to stay afloat in a world so different from home. But fate—or maybe just an accidental splash—has other plans.

As Jian Dan joins rock climbing to save her scholarship, she ends up discovering more than just heights. Yansheng, it turns out, is not only brilliant but also the anonymous math blogger she admires: “Miss Hypatia.” Together, they find courage, purpose, and maybe even love, one formula at a time.

Cast and Characters

Ireine Song as Jian Dan – Bubbly, hardworking, and honest. She’s the kind of character you root for from the start.

Guo Zifan as Han Yansheng – Smart, cold, emotionally scarred—but his heart slowly opens.

Supporting Cast – From best friends to competitive classmates, every side character brings warmth and fun to campus life.

Reason to watch

1. Campus Romance With a Twist:- It’s not just cute meet-cutes—math and rock climbing make for a surprisingly fun backdrop. Watching two people heal and grow together? Always satisfying.

2. Ireine Song is So Relatable:- She’s awkward, brave, and real. If you’ve ever felt like an outsider in a big new world, you’ll love her story.

3. Guo Zifan’s Dual Personality:- Cold in person, warm online—it’s the perfect trope. And when she realizes his secret identity? Butterflies.

4. Feel-Good & Binge-Worthy:- Nothing too dramatic, nothing too slow. Just a comforting, sweet slice of young adult life. It’s perfect for winding down or watching on a cozy weekend.

Final Takeaway

Love Formula is a beautiful little drama that reminds us love doesn’t always come with fireworks—it can grow gently, like confidence in a math class or courage on a climbing wall. It’s about finding the right equation between two hearts.

Whether you’re into slow-burn chemistry, campus vibes, or stories that heal, this one should definitely be on your watchlist.

Wow! Such beautiful insights on this lovable drama for 2025!

This is my full length, campus romance drama which I have watched recently and I am loving every episode of it, except when there is Entong, the schemer-classmate on it.

I really loved your words here; you write so well; short perception of a drama, yet concise.
(I worked in a legal industry, an area full of stresses; this drama makes me relax and comfortable. Song Yiren, the actress, was introduced to me by one good friend, an American teacher from Texas, USA; she loves everything about SYR, which started from her role as Sang Sang in Ever Night, Season 1)

I am now one of your admirer.
Thank you so much for writing a happy thoughts on this amazing drama of campus romance and the love for math equations (I worked with numbers and statistics, too).

    Kindest regards and cheers,
    Marilina
