SBS Offspring Release Project: Cohabitation Blind Date to Premiere in 2026

SBS is set to welcome 2026 with a refreshing and emotionally driven reality variety show titled Offspring Release Project – Cohabitation Blind Date. The new Thursday night program introduces a bold matchmaking concept that blends romance, family involvement, and real-life cohabitation, aiming to explore meaningful relationships with marriage as the ultimate goal. With its unique format and strong MC lineup, the show is already gaining attention ahead of its premiere.

Unlike conventional dating shows, this series brings single men and women together with their mothers for a five-night, six-day cohabitation camp. Participants live under one roof, interact through daily activities, and build connections while their mothers observe, advise, and emotionally support the journey. The presence of parents adds a realistic and culturally resonant layer, reflecting how family opinions often play a crucial role in marriage decisions.

Guiding the experience are three well-known faces from the Korean entertainment industry: Seo Jang-hoon, known for his candid insights and warm presence; veteran actress Lee Yo-won, who brings empathy and emotional depth; and idol-actor Kim Yo-han, offering a younger and relatable perspective. Together, they observe the dynamics between participants, comment on emotional turning points, and help steer conversations toward honesty and growth.

The cohabitation format allows relationships to develop naturally over shared routines, meals, and conversations, rather than through short dates or scripted missions. By focusing on compatibility, communication, and family values, the show aims to create deeper emotional connections and genuine reflections on what it means to choose a life partner in today’s world.

Offspring Release Project – Cohabitation Blind Date will air as SBS’s new Thursday variety program, with its first broadcast scheduled for January 1, 2026, at 9 PM KST. As dating reality shows continue to evolve, this family-centered approach stands out as one of the most intriguing and talked-about formats heading into the new year.
