tvN is ready to launch its new weekend drama Typhoon Family this October, and fans can’t wait to see Lee Junho take center stage. Set in the backdrop of South Korea’s 1997 IMF financial crisis, the drama tells the story of Kang Tae-poong, a young CEO who must fight to save his late father’s collapsing company. More than just a business drama, it’s a heartfelt tale about resilience, family, and survival during one of Korea’s toughest times.

Lee Junho transforms into Kang Tae-poong with retro 90s styling that brings back sentimental nostalgia—complete with the classic “bridge hair” look of the era. His first look has already taken social media by storm, proving why he’s the perfect fit for the role.

Joining him is Kim Min-ha as Oh Mi-seon, a hardworking bookkeeper who sacrifices for her family, and Kim Min-seok as Wang Nam-mo, Tae-poong’s loyal friend. The cast also includes Kwon Han-sol, Sung Dong-il, and Kim Ji-young, ensuring a mix of both fresh energy and veteran presence. Together, they promise to bring the struggles and warmth of the time period to life.

Fans are already hyped after tvN dropped teasers featuring Junho’s 90s look, calling it a perfect revival of the era. The official Twitter post added to the excitement:
The series will premiere in October 2025 on tvN, with 16 episodes running about 60 minutes each, and will also stream on Netflix in select regions.
Typhoon Boss promises more than nostalgia—it’s a moving survival story of ordinary people facing extraordinary times. With Junho’s strong presence, Kim Min-ha’s emotional depth, and a powerful supporting cast, the drama is expected to deliver both laughter and tears.
